Four teams from the Carine Cats Tee-ball Division braved the heat to compete in the TBAWA States Championships over the March long weekend. Having already played an additional 9 to 13 games prior to the Championship, the players then battled it out in five games over three days with 84 other teams from 30 clubs around Western Australia. At the end of the competition, each player received a pennant and celebrated their participation at a windup party on Monday.
The final results were:
Carine 9A – 3rd in A Division
Carine 10A – 3rd in A Division
Carine 10B – 6th in B Division
Carine 13A – 6th in A Division
Well done teams!
The regular Wembley Teeball Competition season has ended and congratulations go to the Carine Cats’ very own Crusty Crushers for being the Under 13 Girls A Grade division winners!
But the action isn’t over yet.
The Crusty Crushers will play the Carine Cats Grand Cinemas Minions in the Semi Finals on Saturday 8 March 2014 at Birralee Reserve.
The game starts at 9:30am and goes for 7 innings.
Come on down and cheer for the girls!
There was a great turnout for the closing ceremony to mark the end of the 2013/14 tee-ball season. Brian Gannon, the Club’s President, thanked the players and parents for their enthusiastic participation and Denice Byrne, the Tee-Ball Chairperson, rallied up the crowd with an “I love tee-ball” chant before encouraging them to remind their parents to enrol them for the following season.
Lachlan Dale of Baseball WA also addressed the crowd while Matt Dixon from Perth Heat handed out the 100 game trophies to three of our young players. The children then got to have their photo taken with the Claxton Shield, kindly loaned by the 2014 winners Perth Heat.
