Another batch of our eager coaches/assistant coaches spent a December Sunday morning with Owen Reid, High Performance & Development Coach of Perth Heat, learning how to teach the basic skills of throwing, catching, fielding and batting to our young players.
The casual. interactive session was once again a great success and we thank Owen for taking time out to help extend the coaching skills of our trainers who are eager to try out their new skills at their next team practice in the new year. Coaches are encouraged to contact our Tee-ball Coaching Coordinator to register your interest in upcoming coaching courses or to check out the Coaching page for more information.
If you are keen for your child to benefit from Owen’s expertise as well, don’t miss out on the January school holiday program.
Three teams from Carine’s Under 11s and Under 9s spent a sunny Sunday morning playing against teams from around the state at the TBAWA Lightning Carnival. All of the players played really well over the four consecutive games, with Tristar Sharks coming third in the U10s division. Well done teams for a great effort in representing Carine!
Thirteen of our eager coaches/assistant coaches spent this Sunday morning with Owen Reid, High Performance & Development Coach of Perth Heat, learning how to teach more advanced skills to our young tee-ball players. Double play communication, cut-offs and relays, defensive responsibilities and batting were just some of the many topics covered, with the parents taking on the role of the children and practising what they had just learnt over the two hours (apart from sliding!).
The session was a resounding success and we thank Owen for taking time out before his team’s big game that night to help extend the coaching skills of our trainers who are eager to try out their new skills at their next team practice.
If you are keen for your child to benefit from Owen’s expertise as well, why not sign them up for the January school holiday program today?
